Palisander Riesling
Wine
Stargazer Palisander Riesling is sourced from the Palisander Vineyard at Tea Tree, in the Coal River Valley near Hobart. The vineyard was planted in 2002 with cuttings from Moorilla.
The fruit is hand harvested, destemmed and left in contact with skins for about eight hours before gentle pressing. Fermentation occurs with wild yeasts in ceramic eggs, typically over a six week period.
The wine is then left on skins for close to 10 months prior to bottling.
Pale straw green, Stargazer Palisander Riesling is soft and sherbet like with an intense fruit finish. Its texture, not acidity, provides structure. Cellaring potential is seven years.
